Balamb Garden is where students, mostly orphans come to learn how to be SEEDS.Balamb Garden's layout is best described as a series of stacked rings surrounding a central elevator. It has three main floors, plus a large basement sub-level. The first and second floors are accessible to the entire Garden population, while the third floor and basement level require special permission.
Trabia Garden is the smallest of the three Gardens, and thus its layout is more simplistic than its predecessors. The details of its construction are difficult to ascertain, however, given its interior is only shown after the devastation caused by the missile attack. What is clear, however, is that it retained Garden's signature circular design. It is likely the building also originally featured a two-story design with a Headmaster's Office on the third floor, but the missile damage has rendered only the first floor accessible.
Galbadia Garden's layout is more enclosed than Balamb's; although it retains the basic circular design surrounding a central lobby, main sections are reached by enclosed hallways running around the perimeter rather than accessed through open-air corridors extending out from the center. It has two main floors accessible by stairwells, plus a headmaster's suite on the third story reached only by a special elevator. The first and second floors are accessible to the entire Garden population, while the third floor requires key card access to the elevator.
The small island town was originally founded by those in pursuit of a rare type of fish named, aptly, the Balamb Fish. Considered a delicacy, the Balamb Fish attracted fishermen and seafood chefs to the area, and soon a small community began to take root. The town's naturally large harbor was the perfect home base for fleets of fishing vessels, as well as commercial passenger ships. Before long, word spread among Galbadians about Balamb's beautiful coastline and refreshing atmosphere, as well as its top-notch food. As a result, Balamb blossomed into a resort destination, hosting tourists from all over Galbadia. An underwater railway was built to aid the transport of both people and supplies, and the elegant Balamb Hotel was built to house vacationers and serve the best Balamb Fish dishes the town had to offer. Small souvenir shops and other tourist-related stores also sprung up around town, and Balamb thrived as a sparsely-populated, politically neutral island nation.
Deling City is a cosmopolitan center located at the north of the Galbadian continent, and is the capital of Galbadia, named after its president, Vinzer Deling, who runs his administration from the city. It is also the home of General Caraway and Rinoa Heartilly's hometown.
The capital city of the reclusive nation Esthar, Esthar City spans almost the entirety of the Great Plains of Esthar. It is hidden behind an Optical Camouflage System Barrier, an invention that cloaks Esthar from view of the outside world.
The town's name was derived from the surrounding woods and due to the region's natural resources,Notable features of Timber include its many train lines and its television broadcasting studio. It is also the home of Timber Maniacs, a publishing company.
It is a quaint, pastoral village on the southwest end of the Galbadian continent, west of the town of Timber in the Centra region. Somewhat isolated in comparison to other towns, Winhill is only directly accessible on foot via dirt roads. The village is surrounded by open plains and rolling fields.
As the name suggests, the village's primary inhabitants are Shumi. The village is located below ground in the cold northern reaches of the Trabia Continent, but is characterized by a warm, comfortable climate.
The Tomb of the Unknown King was named so due to a superstition. It is said that bad luck falls to those who call a dead king by his name. This superstition causes the king entombed to be forgotten in name, and later in memory. It's also very easy to get lost in here, if you don't have a keen sense of direction and backtrack the viewpoint changes and you could be lost forever.
The prison is used to hold political prisoners. D-District Prison may be lowered into, or raised out of, the surrounding desert sands by controls located inside it.
Long ago, Tears' Point was determined to be the most likely place for a Lunar Cry to happen. To prevent the Crystal Pillar from summoning the Lunar Cry, the location was set up with a ground energy field that should have worked to deflect the energy field created by the Crystal Pillar, generated from the security boxes placed around the periphery of the area. Statues were erected, their purpose besides being ornamental unknown.
Fisherman's Horizon was built by the dissatisfied engineers who were active during the time of Esthar’s development. They decided to abandon their homeland and build a new city somewhere else. The town was named by the man who had played an important role in breaking away from Esthar. Those involved in the town’s construction have grown old, but the town has reached the point of seeing its first genuinely native generation grow up. The town was built on the old old railroad station used to cross the sea, and the remains of that structure still remain.
